Madeira Airport has been renamed Cristiano Ronaldo Airport in a move initially announced last year. A bizarre-looking bust of Ronaldo’s head was unveiled along with a sign as part of the occasion and it will sit at the arrivals terminal. The 32-year-old attended a ceremony at the airport the day after scoring his 71st international goal in Portugal’s 3-2 friendly defeat against Sweden. His partner Georgina Rodriguez and mother Maria Aveiro were also in attendance, along with hundreds of fans....

Juventus and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the record for the longest consecutive Ballon d’Or nomination, having been nominated for the accolade a record fourteen years in a row. In case you didn’t know.. France Football released its list of thirty nominees for the 2018 edition of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in separate intervals on Monday. The award is Europe’s highest and oldest honour, and has been presented by France Football every year since 1956....

Despite the injury, the Spanish giants claimed that the Portugal forward could still be ready for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Galatasaray at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, reports Xinhua. Ronaldo was substituted out of Real Madrid’s 5-0 victory at Almeria Saturday after scoring his 33rd goal of the season. Real Madrid lead Group B off the Champions League with 10 points and can secure a place in the next round with a draw against Galatasaray, who have four points....

Ronaldo joined the Old Trafford outfit last summer, sending the football world into a frenzy. The United faithfuls were elated with the return of ther king and the nostalgia surrounding him was euphoric. According to a lawsuit filed Sept. 27 in Nevada’s Clark County District Court, Ronaldo is accused of sexually assaulting Kathryn Mayorga, a 25-year-old American woman, in a penthouse at the Palms Casino Resort in June 2009. This month a court in Madrid, Spain gave out a “pioneering ruling” and granted joint custody of a dog, Panda, to the dog’s two owners after they parted ways. Lola García, from the Law & Animals law firm, who brought this case to court said one of the reasons the case was noteworthy was the court’s recognition of her client as “co-responsible” and as a “co-carer” rather than a “co-owner” of the pup, according to the BBC....

But the surprising thing is that the politicians courting the Arab vote are coming from both sides of the political spectrum. According to data from the New York Times as of Tuesday, Alaska, Idaho, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, Tennessee, Washington, and Wyoming, have seen an increase in daily COVID-19 case average compared to 14 days ago. Alaska has a daily average of 2,268 new cases, a rise of 20 percent from the daily average from two weeks ago. Idaho has seen its average daily cases soar to 4,983, 43 percent higher than they were on January 18....
