The victory by Wyoming (15-9, 6-5 Mountain West Conference) came almost 16 years to the day after the Cowboys last beat a top-5 team at home, a 62-56 win over No. 5 Utah. With Rolando McClain limited to just 20 snaps in Sunday’s 24-20 wild-card win over the Lions, Carter came up huge for the second straight game, particularly in what he’s given Dallas in pass coverage short-to-intermediate. In Week 17, Carter hawked underneath routes and came away with two red-zone picks. On Sunday, Dallas’ interception leader dropped the red-zone pick, but again showed game-changing anticipation — and great coaching from defensive coordinator Rob Marinelli — leaving coverage of tight end Eric Ebron underneath to spoil a potential touchdown from Matt Stafford to Calvin Johnson....
