The already gruesome nature of Sekiro sets the tone, but what makes this mod especially disturbing are Woody’s giant, unblinking eyes staring blankly forward as he eviscerates his enemies while being spattered with blood. The smile on his rosy cheeks that never fades also adds to the shudder factor. Woody might be a toy, but put a katana in his hands and he does not play nice.

Many came across the mod through a video that garnered attention over the weekend and features a fight between Woody and Genichiro, Way of Tomoe. It is worth watching the entire clip just to see how Woody looks performing a Shinobi Execution.
The mod is the creation of Huckleberrypie, who used an existing mod that adds Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ C.J. Carl to Sekiro. The model for Woody was plucked from Disney Dream Treats, a mobile puzzle game that uses 3D models for many Disney characters. According to the mod’s description on Nexus, Huckleberrypie was inspired to create the mod after watching Toy Story 4 at a local theater. They had seen other Sekiro mods online and wanted to give it a shot.
As mentioned before, modding in characters from children’s cartoons and other media is a common practice. Thomas the Tank Engine is one of the most popular choices for modders, who once replaced the intimidating Mr. X in Resident Evil 2 a while back. Of course, Thomas has been modded into Sekiro as well. The Great Serpent was reskinned to become the friendly locomotive, making it much less menacing.
In other Sekiro news, fans wanting new content may have to wait indefinitely. Shortly after developer From Software announced its next title, Elden Ring, a rumor began circulating that touched on future content for the game. According to ResetEra, the company is not developing any Sekiro DLC at this time. Whether that will change in the future is unknown. Without confirmation from the developer, however, the news should be taken with some skepticism.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
