Now, Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is expected to arrive on March 25, 2021, based on its listing in the App Store. Moreover, King Digital also released a brand new trailer to promote the game, which is more extensive than the debut preview released in July. The latest footage revealed that Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will be a bigger game than what most people expect with more than 100 hours of gameplay across 12 lands. The mobile game will also feature battles against some of the most iconic bosses in Crash Bandicoot’s history.

Based on the trailer, it appears that Crash Bandicoot: On The Run will be an endless runner like Temple Run with some unique Crash Bandicoot twists. In the game, players can spin through obstacles and find secret paths that will lead to rewards and special challenges. Moreover, players can also pre-register for the upcoming game and those that do will receive a special Blue Hyena Skin for Crash, which veteran players would know is a tribute to a similar skin from Crash Team Racing.

Apart from the details revealed above, King Digital still hasn’t revealed other important info about the game such as whether it will have any type of story elements. However, given that the upcoming game is an endless runner title, it is likely that the story will be light and won’t have any significant impact on the franchise’s main lore.

It’s also unclear whether players will be able to play as other characters such as Coco Bandicoot or Dr. Neo Cortex. If the game does follow its contemporaries, though, new characters might be unlocked as the player progress through the game, or purchased via an in-game store.

The confirmation of Crash Bandicoot: On The Run’s release date is hot on the heels of the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on the PS4 and Xbox One. Similar to the classic trilogy that came before it, Crash Bandicoot 4 features challenging maps and some of the most beloved characters in the franchise. Shortly after its release, the game received mostly positive reviews and performed well on several sales charts.

And although the game previously soft-launched in select Asian countries and had a placeholder launch window, an official release date has just been confirmed by King.

In a newly released trailer, King has announced that Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will launch worldwide later this month on March 25. The game will be available on iOS and Android devices, and the new trailer mentions that anyone who pre-registers for the game ahead of its release will receive a free Blue Hyena Crash skin at launch.

Previously, the iOS App Store provided an unofficial expected release date of March 25, 2021 for the new mobile game, and while things seemed up in the air for a bit, that is now set in stone. The trailer also shows off a new aspect of the game’s multiplayer functionalities. Previously, King announced that players could team up to play with a friend, but this new trailer reveals that it looks like up to 3 players can enjoy Crash Bandicoot: On the Run together. This new mobile game seems like yet another effort by Activision to bring Crash back into the spotlight, so it will be interesting to see what else is planned for the character in the future.
